Meeting Announcement
The Cordilleran Section Meeting of the Geological Society of America will be held at the Hawai‘i Convention Center in Honolulu on May 23–25, 2017. HIGP and SOEST personnel are coordinating technical sessions, short courses, workshops, and field trips. GSA section logo

Sarah Fagents is co-chairing the Explosive Volcanism session and the Volcanism Across the Solar System session. Nicole Lautz is co-charing the Advances in Geothermal Resource Investigation session, Murli Manghnani and Bin Chen are together co-charing the Mineral Physics Research Aspects Related to Deep Earth's Interior and Phenomena session, and Emilio Herrero-Bervera is co-charing the Paleomagnetism, Rock Magnetism, and Archaeomagnetism session. HIGP serves society and the State of Hawai‘i by acquiring and disseminating new knowledge about the Earth and other planetary bodies, and developing and introducing leading edge technologies and a highly trained workforce to the State economy.
